Visitor and Handicap Parking
Visitor and handicap parking is located near the front door. Spots are clearly marked with signs.
Childcare
We have an awesome nursery for infants and toddlers. Childcare is provided during all worship times. We will ask you to sign-in when you drop off your child. Beepers are available upon request. If you choose to use a beeper, the nursery staff will "beep" you if there is a concern about your child. (Don't worry, the beeper are all set to "vibrate")
Sunday School
Sunday School runs concurrent with the 10:30 AM service. A greeter at the front doors to the church will be happy to show you the way. Sunday school is for grades K - 8.
Kids in the Service
Children are important to the life of Palisades. Children are always welcome to stay with you during worship. You will find crayons, coloring sheets, as well as toys and books at the front door to the worship area — just look for the big yellow tub labeled "Kidz Church Bucket." These items are there to help you keep young children occupied. Please help yourself.
In addition to being very cute, babies cry. That's what they do. If you feel the need to leave the service with your baby, camp out in the Good Shepherd Lounge, which is located in the main entry way of the church. We have comfortable seating (including a rocking chair) and a monitor that will allow you to hear the worship service. If you need a hand with the monitor, just ask an usher.
Dress
Please dress comfortably. We have no dress code. It is not uncommon to see people in shorts and sandals or jeans and sneakers. Sometimes you may even see someone wearing a tie.
The Program
As you enter the worship area, an Usher will hand you a Worship folder. This brochure contains the worship service agenda.
When you get to your seat, you'll find a blue Visitor Welcome Card in the seat back pocket in front of you. Please take a moment to fill out the card and tell us a bit about who you are and what brings you to Palisades — the information you provide us is vital to our ministry planning. If you'd prefer to NOT be contacted, please check the box on the back of the card. When you have completed the card, please drop it in the Offering Plate during the service, or bring it to the welcome table in the back of the church after the service to receive our "goodie" bag.
The Worship folder contains an area for you take notes during Pastor Jeff's message. It will also contain an outline for you to follow. Weekly activities and upcoming events are listed in the Weekly Good News, which are handed out after the service and are also available next to the coffee and donuts.
Worship Style
The message you will hear will be relevant to your daily life. It will contain solid Christian theology based upon the Bible. It will be interesting, enjoyable, intelligent, and understandable. Sometimes it will be humorous and sometimes it will tug at your heart.
We have a large screen with a projection system. You can expect to see graphical images and occasional video clips on the screen during worship. All the words to the songs we will sing are projected onto the screens. We have comfortable padded seating. The worship service will last about 60 minutes.
In the 9:00 a.m. service, Communion (also known as the Lord's Supper or Eucharist) is offered on the first and third Sunday of every month. In the 10:30 a.m. service, Communion is offered on the first Sunday of every month. Our tradition is this celebration is open to anyone regardless of your past or previous denominational affiliations. Everyone who wants to change his or her life and build a greater relationship with God is welcome to participate. You can also choose not to participate, sit back, enjoy the music and quietly reflect upon your life.
Offering
Visitors are not expected to contribute to the morning offering. We want you to feel welcome as our guest with no pressure to give. We would like you to place your completed Visitor Welcome Card in the basket as it is passed to you. The offerings we do collect provide the revenues to allow us to provide local and worldwide ministries.
Coffee and Donuts
As part of our ongoing effort to provide a reason for exercise, coffee and donuts are available after both services. Stick around and have a donut and a cup of coffee on us. This is a great place to meet new friends or meet up with people you already know.
Greeters
Our goal is to be the friendliest church in Orange County. We also want to be very user friendly. We have greeters positioned at the main entrances to greet you and answer your questions. They will probably reach out to shake your hand and welcome you. Their entire purpose on Sunday is to serve you. Please do not hesitate to ask them a question or request their assistance.
