Reverend Mark Huntington — Senior Pastor
Bio coming soon

Erla Curtin — Director of Congregational Care and Growth
Erla Curtin has been a United Methodist for as long as she can remember, and a member at Palisades since 1992. She is an R.N., and earned her B.S.N. at Cal State Fullerton. Most of her nursing career was spent as a School Nurse in Irvine. She is currently enrolled at Fuller Theological Seminary, seeking a Masters in Theology, following a year of Clinical Pastoral Education at Mission Hospital, where she was considering a career as a chaplain. It was this background that brought her to this position of Director of Congregational Care and Growth and Parish Nurse. She has three married children, two grandchildren, and a cat. She lives in San Clemente with a tiny view of the ocean, and she's not planning to ever move! "If you're lucky enough to live at the beach, you're lucky enough!"

Sarah Shields — Director of Music Ministries
Even as a child of nine or ten in Fresno, California, Sarah knew she would be a teacher of some sort. Yes, after the age of about eight, all aspirations of becoming an astronaut/doctor/lawyer/actress — all rolled into one, of course, while being the perfect mother and queen — were replaced with visions of one day standing before a sea of faces looking to her to help them understand whatever concept had previously evaded them. After having sensed her “calling,” all that was left to do was to choose a field. Throughout her life, there had only been one constant, one area of study from which was always derived immense joy and peace: music.

Sarah has studied music, in some forum or another, for the last fourteen years — piano beginning at eight, choir since fourth grade, voice for the last six years — all of which brought her to study Choral Music Education at Chapman University in Orange, California. She decided on this field because, as sappy or idealistic as it may sound, Sarah has enjoyed so many incredible experiences, developed so many fond memories, that she can think of no better way to show her gratitude than to follow in the footsteps of those who have inspired her. She sings (always has, always will) and, therefore wants to do nothing other than spend her days making beautiful music with aspiring voices — both young and young at heart.

Marilyn Harnar — Missions
Marilyn was born in Los Angeles, CA, and raised with a "church family" who have kept in touch over her 75 years. Her married life and husband's career at Ford Motor Company too them to mid-America and the east coast in the 1960s-70s. Their church family grew and mission outreach was deeply entrenched in her life. Meals on Wheels, in each place they moved, helped her become part of new communities and feel the blessing of seving and enjoying this special "family" where they settled. Opportunities to travel abroad with faith-based groups brought the world perspective into reality from the 1970s and on, in Germany, Czechoslovakia, China, and Russia. She feels PUMC members seek to be aware of world and local needs, and to generate opportunities for their community to respond as Christ's Disciples.
